There's no shortage of spring to officially begin! And who says spring, says cleaning! Easy link, I grant you, but at the same time, there is nothing better than a good spring cleaning to change the air and start the mild season in style.
However, before getting out of the household artillery, let me introduce you to Baléco , a local company that offers eco-responsible products for the industrial, commercial and residential markets.
As long as we rub, let's make sure we do it with products that are healthy for health and the environment!
The little story
Intolerant of synthetic fragrances for a long time, Anie Rouleau decided in 2012 to offer eco-responsible cleaning products that contain no fragrance.
“My first crisis, I still remember it. I was 13 and I was sitting next to a woman at mass who was wearing Nina-Ricci-of-I-don't-know-what-perfume and it gave me a headache,” says she laughs.
Having since this incident got into the habit of scratching the fragrances of the products she uses and of making them by the same token, Anie then realized that she could make it her project.
"I understood that I could have an impact on biodegradability and health, but in addition, I noticed that the cleaning products industry needed eco-design in its packaging", she tells us. .
Towards “zero waste”
Baléco distributes its products to more than 100 companies and sells them in bulk in more than 30 specialized stores in Quebec.
Laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, all-purpose cleaner, glass and surface cleaner and hand soap are distributed there.
“I want to move into neighborhoods, convenience stores, laundries, etc. I want to be close to consumers,” reports the founder.
Baléco filling stations reduce the ecological footprint by reducing the use of plastic containers.
For example, a 10-litre refill of all-purpose cleaner in one of the filling stations allows an 88% reduction in plastic materials and is packaged in a cardboard box made in Quebec with more than 95% recycled fibers. It's not nothing!
So, ask your neighborhood convenience store or visit the list of businesses to find out where Baléco is distributed.
A Bcorp certified company
Certified B Corp , Baléco is one of the few companies in Quebec to bear this mention, which promotes work values based on ethics, transparency, the environment and the local economy.
“It's the only certification that ensures your corporate values,” proudly replies Anie.
In addition to the products already on sale, Baléco The Unscented Company, a new line of fragrance-free products
