Rabot D. Bois is the workshop-boutique taken over in 2017 by cabinetmaker Mathieu Jean, gold medallist in cabinetmaking at the Olympiades québécoises de la formation professionnelle et technique in 2014. There he carries on the work of L'Atelier du vieux rabot, founded by David-Yann Auclair, and produces in small batches, pairing traditional cabinetmaking with laser cutting and engraving.
Dimensions: 13 ½ in deep (34.3 cm), 23 in wide (58.4 cm) and 7 ¾ in high (19.7 cm); tilt adjustable from 0 to 24 degrees.
Materials: yellow birch plywood, oil-finished.
Care: wipe with a damp cloth and oil the wood as needed.
Origin: made at the workshop in Sainte-Luce, in Bas-Saint-Laurent.
