A small pillow to rest on closed eyelids for a soothing break. Inside, organic pearl barley and a hint of dried lavender give off a soft lavender scent that adds to its calming effect.
Its Tencel™ cover, the vegan version of silk, is silky to the touch and comes off for washing. Use it at room temperature, warm or cold. Amma Thérapie makes it by hand in Quebec.
Format: 8 1/2 x 3 3/4 x 1/2 in., 175 g.
Materials: cover in 100% Tencel™; inner pillow in 100% unbleached cotton, filled with organic pearl barley and a hint of dried lavender.
How to use: to relax, rest it on your closed eyelids at room temperature. For a warm treatment, place it on a paper towel and heat it in the microwave for about 20 to 30 seconds, depending on the appliance's power, or place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in a conventional oven preheated to 175 °F (about 80 °C) for 10 minutes at most; do not use a gas oven. Move the grains around to spread the heat and always test the temperature on the inside of your wrist before placing it over your eyes. For a cold treatment, keep it in the freezer in an airtight plastic bag. To wash the cover, remove it from the pillow, wash it in cold water and lay it flat to dry. The inner pillow cannot be washed in water.
Storage: keep it away from dust.
Precautions: do not keep the warm eye pillow on your eyes for more than 5 minutes in a row. Never leave a child under 3 unattended with the eye pillow.
Origin: handmade in Quebec by Amma Thérapie, whose workshop-boutique is in Château-Richer, in the Capitale-Nationale region.
