MINI TIPI was co-founded in 2016 by Trisha Pitura, a member of the Nipissing First Nation, and Mélanie Bernard, faced with the absence of textiles carrying authentic Indigenous patterns. The company, based on the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin nation, pays royalties to the Indigenous artists who work with it. The pattern was drawn by Trisha Pitura: it evokes the sacred number four, the four directions and the four dimensions of the medicine wheel.
Format: reversible blanket, 60 x 80 inches, finished with a fringe. Large enough for a large bed or to serve as a throw.
Materials: 20% recycled wool, 30% acrylic, 50% recycled polyester.
Care: wash in cold water, air dry.
Origin: designed, cut and sewn at the Gatineau workshop, in the Outaouais. The fabric itself is woven in Italy from recycled fibres.
