One bag, water just off the boil: notes of cinnamon, ginger and clove rise gently, and the cup warms between your hands.

This line of herbal teas grew out of the work of the Avataq Cultural Institute, an Inuit cultural organization in Nunavik founded in 1980, which documented traditional herbal knowledge with the Elders before turning it into a commercial line in the early 2000s. The plants are picked and dried by residents of the Nunavik communities. The brand has belonged to Makivvik since December 2023.

Format: 20 tea bags, in paper filters made of more than 99% plant fibres, with no plastic or glue.

Ingredients: Arctic blend (Ukiurtatuq), purple echinacea herb, marshmallow root, peppermint leaves, elderflowers, chamomile flowers, cinnamon bark, ginger root, cloves, coltsfoot leaves. The blend contains Labrador tea.

Allergens: according to the manufacturer, free of gluten, nuts, peanuts, soy, dairy and sulphites.

Serving suggestion: steep one bag in a cup of hot water for a few minutes, depending on how strong you like it.

Storage: keep in an airtight container, away from moisture.

Precautions: contains Labrador tea, which has stimulant properties according to the manufacturer.

Origin: plants hand-picked and hand-dried in the Nunavik communities, in Nord-du-Québec.
